This is a creature design I did for the scandanavian mythical creature called a Huldra. These creatures are described as appearing like beautiful young women, yet they have the tail of a fox or cow, and their back is hollow like that of a tree.

I aimed to bring forth the bovine features of the creature, with more bovine hips and face, while still keeping her face human-like enough to be mistaken for one at a distance. Rather than just a hollow back, I aimed to design a hollow torso with elements visible from the front as well. While clothed, the huldra can disguise itself as a human to lure them away.
